Aurora Radar Station is an untouched haven deep in the Arctic tundra. Surrounded by the region’s most captivating views and steeped in remarkable history. 

Set in the heart of Hetta, Lapland, the newly opened property offers an extraordinary retreat on the site of a former radar station. Once highly classified since the mid-1960s, the site now offers guests a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature in absolute seclusion, surrounded by indigenous Sámi culture.

Thanks to its remote location and minimal light pollution, Aurora Radar Station is one of the greatest spots to witness the Northern Lights in full privacy.

The Aurora Radar Station is uniquely situated in the centre of Sámi culture, where the lands of Finland, Sweden, and Norway converge. This region is home to the Sámi people, whose traditions and way of life transcend the borders created by Western societies.

Guests have the rare privilege to experience the spirit of the Arctic as the Sámi do, wandering freely across the tundra, guided by ancient customs and a deep respect for nature.

The retreat comprises five apartments: four dedicated to guests and a fifth for staff and dining. With a total of 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, Aurora Radar Station accommodates up to 26 guests in refined comfort.

The experience is elevated by a separate sauna department featuring a relaxing lounge, an authentic Finnish sauna, and an outdoor jacuzzi — perfect for unwinding after a day of Arctic adventure.
